About Twin County Recovery Services Red Door Residence
Twin County Recovery Services is a nonprofit that has five decades of experience helping individuals in Hudson, New York, recover from substance use disorder. Their intensive outpatient program is regulated and licensed by the NYS Office of Addiction Services and Supports and features services such as addiction education and relapse prevention. Twin County Recovery Services accepts payment through Medicaid and private insurance.
Treatment That Accommodates Your Schedule
The intensive outpatient program allows you to receive treatment as you continue to manage your work and family life. You’ll participate in individual and group counseling to learn relapse prevention strategies that can support your recovery. The therapeutic approaches that your counselor will likely use may include cognitive (CBT) and dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT).
Medication assisted treatment (MAT) is available for clients who need assistance with managing their cravings and withdrawal symptoms. Your clinician may either prescribe Suboxone or Vivitrol. Both meds can help reduce your symptoms so you can be more able to focus on your recovery.
An additional unique service I like that they provide is codependency counseling. A co dependent relationship can cause some individuals to have low self esteem to the point of using drugs or alcohol to make themselves better. Counselors will guide clients on building self esteem and using self care to help with avoiding substance use. The center’s natural accents and warm-colored decor can also lighten your mood so you can relax and reflect.
Care Services Close to Albany
One thing I noticed about the facility is it’s less than an hour away from Albany, New York. Some activities you might like doing outside of your treatment sessions include visiting Washington Park or checking out the Albany Institute of History & Art. It’s also near the Hudson Lighthouse and the bay.
