About Turning Point Residential Services
Turning Point Recovery Resources is a men's residential program in Gainesville, Georgia. The organization is a certified member of the Georgia Association of Recovery Residences. They provide a 12 month residential recovery program for men who are struggling with substance abuse issues.
They specialize in teaching basic life skills. You’ll also learn how to maintain employment and learn to live a life free of substance addiction. You do need to be 18 years of age and older to participate in the recovery program. You must be willing to get a sponsor and work the 12 Step program, as well as get and maintain employment. You will need to get along with others, who are also in recovery, and be able to live in a group environment.
They have two facilities that are well equipped to make you feel like you are home. One of their facilities holds 24 men, and the other holds 48 men. The bedrooms are shared, but it’s only two people per room. I like that each room has its own heating and air conditioning. The facility has video surveillance round the clock. I also like the extra security, as you’ll need a key fob to enter and exit. There is also a unit manager that lives on site.
You will be required to attend weekly drug and alcohol counseling. Speciality and individual counseling is available upon request. You will attend daily therapeutic activities and education. Examples include relapse prevention classes, off site 12 Step meetings, Celebrate Recovery meetings and group therapy.
What stood out to me is that their treatment team monitors your weekly progress. This ensures that you are following your agreed upon treatment plan. If needed, they are able to adjust your treatment plan to ensure you stay on track for recovery.
