About Turning Point Mens Home
Turning Point Ministries is a Christian nonprofit organization that helps men overcome life-controlling problems. They’re located in a semi-rural area of Holtville, California. The program has no cost to clients. They’re funded by donations from the community and payments for work service.
The Christian Men’s home is an environment in which men are encouraged to turn their hearts, minds and souls to God instead of relying on their own strength. They call themselves a Christian discipleship school. They help their students submit to the power of God and learn how to become productive and successful Christians.
You will live, learn and work with other men in Turning Point’s men’s home. You’ll work through your issues that led to your addiction. This will be done through education, counseling, peer support and bible studies and applying Christian principles. You’ll also be expected to participate in chores and work therapy.
Turning Point offers work services like lawn services, car wash and detailing, and moving within the Imperial Valley or loading U-hauls for longer distance moves. If you have downtime, the Alamo River Trail is nearby and the Earl Walker Country Park can resemble an oasis in this arid environment.
They also run a domestic violence program for folks who have been court ordered to attend. The program lasts 52 weeks and runs for two hours once a week. You’ll be placed in a small group of no more than 12 participants of all genders. You may only mis three sessions to get your certificate of completion and must make up the missed work.
