Tulsa Boys Home is a 168 acre campus in Sand Springs, Oklahoma. This facility is designed to support troubled boys and their families. Ithelps young men dealing with emotional, behavioral or substance abuse problems. They can house 62 boys between 13 and 18 years old who are referred by either the Department of Human Services or their parents/legal guardians. The goal of this home is to break the cycles of poverty, abuse, neglect and addiction. Fees are based on a sliding scale.
The substance abuse program also targets emotional and behavioral issues through a holistic approach. Boys will take part in individual and group counseling as well as equine therapy and family counseling when applicable. Residents will attend an on campus alternative school which is staffed by certified teachers.
The equine program allows young men access to horses to develop social intelligence through a hands-on format. They'll work individually and in groups with the equine program manager to promote healing and hope.
