About Transitional Living Communities Apache Junction

Transitional Living Communities Apache Junction is part of a network of facilities across the state of Arizona that provide substance use disorder (SUD) treatment. Along with treatment programs, the network also has recovery homes in Mesa, Phoenix, and Glendale that provide immersive care to people working to regain sobriety and overcome addiction.

I like that they offer a range of programs designed to work with the unique needs of participants. Most people will start with a substance abuse assessment to determine which outpatient program is best for their addiction status, as well as customized counseling recommendations. Counseling is offered in individual, daily group and family settings. They accept BCBS, TRICARE West and Arizona Medicaid.

Intensive Outpatient Care

Since 1992, they have provided an intensive outpatient program (IOP) which includes more extensive counseling while allowing people to remain in their homes. I appreciate that the facilities also allow for more flexible treatment schedules to ensure that work isn’t disrupted.

Aftercare and Transitional Housing

For many people, getting sober is the first step in what can be a long battle to return to a normal life, free of dependency. Their aftercare provides not just mental health support to help people reframe their minds, but also includes job placement opportunities. Additionally, I like that their transitional housing opportunities help people stick to their sobriety by giving them a sober setting where they can get back on their feet.

Art Therapy

Art and music are mediums that connect with our feelings, making them a great recovery tool during addiction t...reatment. Studies show that combining art/music and drug rehab can have a greater therapeutic impact than drug rehab alone, as you’re able to access parts of your brain and body that you may not have access to during traditional talk therapy. Benefits of art/music therapy include lowering stress and anxiety, promoting healthy neurochemicals, and providing stress relief.

Hypnotherapy

Hypnotherapy is an evidence-based complementary approach to addiction treatment in which clients enter an induced state of deep relaxation. Once the client has entered this hypnotic state, the hypnotherapist uses various techniques, including guided imagery and positive affirmations, to help clients “unlearn” negative behaviors, such as substance misuse, and adopt healthy ones. The approach supports clients’ long-term mental, physical, and emotional wellbeing and reduces their risk of relapse by tapping into the power of the subconscious mind.
