About Transformations by the Gulf
Transformations By The Gulf is a drug and alcohol rehab center in the lovely city of St. Pete Beach, Florida. They offer residential treatment, day treatment with housing, and intensive outpatient treatment programs with optional housing. Unlike many residential programs, clients are able to keep their cell phones to stay connected with their loved ones. Transformations by the Gulf accept most insurance plans.
This family-owned center has 18 beds in a gender-specific setting. You can't beat the location of St Pete Beach, which is walking distance to a beautiful, sandy beach. You'll have hot meals prepared for you onsite or you can choose to cook for yourself in the fully equipped kitchen. They have a cozy cafe where coffee and snacks are always available. While most bedrooms are shared, single occupancy bedrooms are available.
I like that they have a 3:1 client to counselor ratio so everybody gets the attention they need. Holistic and traditional therapies are blended together to give you a customized program for your recovery.
Group sessions focus on a range of topics like emotional coping, reducing stress, sexual intimacy, communication skills and so much more. You'll also work one on one with a counselor to get at the heart of your addictive behaviors and set goals for the future.
Transformations by the Gulf offers several types of therapy. This experiential therapy lets you heal on the water with the breeze on your face. you'll connect to nature and get the benefits of mindfulness, reducing your stress as well as building confidence. Hands-on sensory activities include hoisting sails, tying knots and trimming ropes. I think this is a unique and valuable therapy method that can get you mentally and physically in shape.
Their partial hospitalization program is also known as day treatment with community housing. You'll attend treatment during the day for several hours and then return to your sober living residence. Most people begin attending five days a week and taper down to three days a week.
They also have an intensive outpatient program that’s a further step down in terms of intensity. This program is offered with or without community housing.
