Top of the World Ranch Milan provides residential and outpatient substance abuse treatment on a 300 acre campus in Milan, Illinois. Clients get private bedrooms in a brick mansion surrounded by nature. You’ll get holistic treatment that uses clinical treatments as well as methods such as Qigong, sound therapy and Native American-led sweat lodges.

If you need to detox, Top of the World can arrange for you to visit a detox facility before you enter treatment. They'll even provide transportation to get you to their campus.

Clients have access to a primary counselor who will take care of your case and offer one-on-one counseling sessions. They also offer group sessions and interactive educational workshops. They'll also give you access to experiential therapies both indoor and outdoor. Award-winning chefs oversee the rotating menu. It includes organic produce and hormone-free meat.

Clients live in a residence building on top of a hill that is a short walk from the main Lodge. I like that each room is soundproof and very comfortable so you can have time to be undisturbed to reflect, journal or sleep. There's access to free laundry services on each floor. During your free time, you can take a canoe out on the lake, take a hike or hang out around the fire pit.

Top of the World also offers an intensive outpatient program. Clients tend to attend treatment for a few hours each day, making school or work possible. This program gives you a foundation for long-term recovery by giving you tools to develop a support system and healthy ways of dealing with stress.
