About The Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center Atlanta

The Salvation Army's Adult Rehabilitation Center provides residential addiction treatment to adults from ages 21 to 65, regardless of your background. The program is provided without charge to individuals the team deems a good fit for the program. Insurance isn’t necessary here. You'll find 'em in Atlanta, Georgia.

Minimum participation requirements involve passing a breathalyzer and drug test on arrival. Participants must also be capable of engaging in a work therapy project for around 8 hours per day and be willing to participate in all program activities. Some of these include counseling sessions, educational workshops, and worship services. The Salvation Army is a faith-based service, so spirituality is a major element of their program.

Residential work therapy programs here can last up to 180 days. These can support you when your issues have spiraled out of control, leaving you unable to cope or provide for yourself. All your basic necessities will be covered, with each resident provided with a clean and healthy living environment, nutritious food, work therapy, leisure activities, group and individual counseling, and spiritual direction.

You’ll also have access to resources designed to help you develop life skills, and a spiritual connection with God. Individuals are also assigned supportive mentors to help guide them as they navigate the recovery journey and all that entails.

Aside from spiritual care, work therapy is expected to take up much of the participants’ time during the program. This is because most of the folks who take part have little to no work experience, and their rehab program is designed to fill in these gaps. The site has a donation center and a thrift store where you might end up assisting customers, developing work skills, and getting stuck in with the team.

With this approach, you can develop a bucket load of transferable skills and good habits to set you up in your new life. One key goal that program staff support is for individuals to secure stable work and housing once they graduate from the program. While secure employment isn’t guaranteed, it's considered an important element in the long-term success of graduates' recovery.
