About The Ordinary People Society
The Ordinary People Society is a recovery center and advocacy group that offers addiction treatment care and support to adult men, families, and women impacted by incarceration or chemical dependency. It’s based in the suburbs of Dothan, Alabama.
This organization's programs are all faith based and seek to help individuals restore their rights, overcome addiction or imprisonment, cope with homelessness or hunger, and connect with the resources they need to get back on their feet.
Rehabilitation, Recovery, and Reentry Support in Donthan
This facility offers a number of programs, including the restoration housing program, Moma Tina’s Mission House, a rights restoration program, and a project dedicated to addressing women’s rights.
I like that the facility also has a youth advocacy program that supports children who have incarcerated parents. Tina’s Mission House provides healthy food and clean water to individuals freshly released from prison.
The main goal of this facility’s restoration house program is to help men transition back to society after being recently released from jail or prison or experiencing debilitating substance abuse. To facilitate this, the recovery program focuses on helping men develop or restore their relationship with God.
The residential support program requires residents to demonstrate honesty, accountability, transparency, and integrity. All residents must be at least 19 years old and have a family member who’s willing to sign for financial employment.
Over 20+ Years of Diverse, Inclusive Service in Houston County
I read that this facility was originally established over 20 years ago in 2001. Since then, it has become one of the leading companies dedicated to criminal justice reform, reentry, voter restoration, and changing mass incarceration policies.
It’s also neat that this group is very diverse. I saw that up to 75% of the volunteers who work with the company were formerly incarcerated themselves. 85% are people of color, and 30% are members of the LGBTQ community.
Amenities
Private drug rehab provides a comfortable, secure environment that allows you to focus on doing the work to get your life back on track. Benefits include a higher staff-to-client ratio, increased one-on-one time with therapists and healthcare providers, private rooms for clients, and customized forms of therapy.
Residential drug rehab provides the comforts of home with the therapeutic support needed to successfully recover. Benefits of an inpatient program include increased safety, a higher success rate, and the time and distance given to focus on recovery. Residential drug rehabs are often the preferred method of treatment, as they can be tailored to meet specific needs, offer focused therapeutic care, and provide the necessary tools to sustain recovery.
In order to maintain a sense of autonomy, many private rehab facilities offer clients the ability to choose their own private rooms. The privacy and personal space ensure that the recovery process is as comfortable as possible.
