About Lakeside Behavioral Health System
Lakeside Behavioral Health System is a drug and alcohol rehab located in Memphis, Tennessee. This 37 acre campus with ten buildings hosts all levels of care from inpatient (IP) to various outpatient (OP) programs, they’ll assess and advise you where to start. When you’re ready to move to a less intense level, they’ll make sure the change is smooth and simple.
With most addictions, the best place to start recovery is by going through detox. You’ll be cared for by medical staff around the clock. They’ll help you through withdrawals by treating any symptoms you have with medication.
They may advise you to stay on addiction medication after you’ve completed detox. The medication takes away cravings, leaving you free to focus on recovery. If you’re facing mental health challenges related to your addiction, they can manage your medication. They’ll also help your emotions and mind heal through therapy.
You’ll be introduced to the 12 Step method. This provides a structure for peer accountability and involves introspection. You’ll set recovery goals for yourself and be supported and encouraged to meet them.
The therapy you’ll receive is trauma informed. If the root of your addiction was emotional or physical trauma, they’ll help you recognize it. When you’ve identified the catalyst, you’ll face it with a trained therapist to guide you.
As part of your healing, you’ll be assigned a peer recovery support specialist. These are people who’ve been through the challenges you’re facing and overcame them. Their success becomes your beacon of hope that change is possible. They’ll connect you to social welfare support, if necessary.
They also have some speciality services. Brunswick Place at Lakeside is a geriatric mental health program. Recovery Academy at Lakeside is an outpatient treatment for children and adolescents. The Patriot Support Program is for active duty military service members, veterans, National Guard, Reserves, and their families.
