About The Magdalen House Women’s Location & Administrative Offices
The Magdalen House located in Dallas, Texas, offers addiction recovery services completely free of charge. They are the only agency in the Dallas-Fort Worth area to do this. The house on Gaston Avenue is for women who have alcohol addiction reach recovery through their spiritually-based, 12 Step program. There’s a separate program for men.
The Magdalene house has three stages in their program. The first is a residential program for alcoholics who want to stop. This program lasts for two weeks. Women are admitted throughout the year and there is no cost for any part of this program. Everything from food and toiletries to programming is provided for these 14 days. The curriculum focuses heavily on the 12 Steps as well as spiritual solutions in classes, meetings, and workshops. Beds are first come, first serve. I like that they offer daily conversations with recovered alcoholics who volunteer to support those early in their recovery. The next stage is an outpatient program where you’ll continue to build upon your recovery skills for three months.
The final stage is their aftercare community program. They offer gender-specific groups that include social events, an annual retreat and a sober community.

Benefits include a higher staff-to-client ratio, increased one-on-one time with therapists and healthcare providers, private rooms for clients, and customized forms of therapy.
In order to maintain a sense of autonomy, many private rehab facilities offer clients the ability to choose their own private rooms. The privacy and personal space ensure that the recovery process is as comfortable as possible.
Residential drug rehab provides the comforts of home with the therapeutic support needed to successfully recover. Benefits of an inpatient program include increased safety, a higher success rate, and the time and distance given to focus on recovery. Treatment centers with a yoga studio offer a special form of holistic therapy during the recovery process. Yoga boosts mindfulness, a sense of calm, and healthy reflection during drug rehab via breathing exercises, stretching, and a progression of specific postures.
