Welcome Back to Life

While counseling is a key pillar of this program, it's hardly the only focus. Since transitional living houses are meant to prepare you for your return to independent living, it's important that the program you choose has components in place that support that. Thankfully, this location does.

The program makes use of a number of community resources that support self sufficiency. Things like vocational workshops, education opportunities, and others can aid in ensuring that everything you need for your recovery is readily available. With stays at The Link lasting between 9-12 months, there's plenty of time to explore these options.

Continuing Help through Aftercare

While having extra time to prepare is always a good thing, there's no amount of time you can spend in a recovery program that will fully prepare you for your return home. But that's where aftercare planning comes in. This service sees you working with staff to discuss your progress and needs as you build a plan for yourself to follow upon exiting the program.

It's a handy road map that ensures you aren't left alone as you move forward. After spending so much time in a highly structured program, you may need a little help figuring out what you should do next.

Get Active in Recovery

This program also includes recreation as part of recovery. Physical activity has been shown to help with recovery and relapse prevention, so it's just as good that Norfolk is just outside Willow Creek State Recreation Area. It's a great location to get active or simply take a breather and enjoy sobriety.
