About Riveon–The Prevention Center
The Riveon Mental Health and Wellness network operates The Prevention Center for adults and teens. It used to be called The LACDA Way. They offer a selection of outpatient services including intensive outpatient (IOP) and day treatment options. There are also specific tracks within their network for women who might need inpatient care.
Riveon accepts many private insurance plans. They’re also accredited by CARF.
Medications and Detox
I found it really neat that they offer services for those who are just starting their recovery. You can sign up for ambulatory detox or medication assisted treatment (MAT) to manage your withdrawal symptoms and ease cravings. There are also counseling programs to build up healthy coping measures and develop life skills.
Handling Life’s Stressors
Their program also tackles co-occurring behavioral problems. Some kids resort to drugs to cope with stress with school and life, while others turn to theft or bedwetting. Riveon deals with all these conditions and helps reduce the risk of harm to themselves or others. Youth programs like Voices for Change are also effective in their inclusiveness and leadership-building activities.
Adults might have problems with regulating their emotions or become addicted to gambling or social media. Riveon also helps with these conditions, and I’m pleased to see that they offer art therapy, journaling, and breathing techniques to help you relax. It’s not far from nearby attractions like Lakeview Park, where you can continue your exercises surrounded by greenery.
Dial in for Crises
For those with acute addictions, it’s great that Riveon offers mobile units and crisis interventions. Should an emergency arise, I’m impressed that they can meet you at your home, school or office.
