About The Jacob Center

The Jacob Center is a nonprofit in a residential corner near Colorado State University, based in Fort Collins, Colorado. They’re dedicated to fostering growth and resilience in the lives of underserved youth and families.

To achieve this noble goal, they offer a number of unique programs that help their clients overcome struggles, develop useful skills, and strengthen relationships within families and communities. These programs include mental and behavioral health counseling to help with conditions like trauma, stress, anxiety, depression and addiction.

Gentle and Compassionate Therapy

At the Jacob Center, they’re sensitive to the fact that trauma and traumatic experiences can play an immense role in shaping your present condition. This approach allows them to tailor the counseling and advice they provide, taking your personal needs and potential triggers into account.

Providing You With Holistic Treatment

Therapeutic techniques they use include cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness practices, and solution focused therapy. However, the technique that really stands out to me is their use of somatic (body) therapies and interventions. What’s unique about this is that it addresses the fact that stress, trauma, and addiction all have consequences that can affect your body as well as your mind.
