The Healing Lodge of the Seven Nations is a 45 bed residential treatment facility for youth with substance use disorders and co-occurring conditions in Spokane Valley, Washington. This facility has an incredible reputation for quality and individualized treatment. This is confirmed by their double accreditation by the Joint Commission and CARF. They serve males and females aged 13 to 17 struggling with substance use, mental health and behavioral issues using the ASAM level 3.5 criteria. They offer a safe, structured and supportive therapeutic environment that fosters psychological, spiritual and physical healing. You can even access onsite medical services if necessary.
Their recovery program is administered by experienced and skilled substance use disorder professionals and mental health counselors. These experts work together to deliver quality and individualized treatment. Their recovery approach is rooted in clinically proven techniques alongside support service programming. These include education and expressive arts, culturally relevant programming and exercise and nutrition. The clinical aspects of the program involve individual and group therapy.
Therapy groups help you tackle negative behavioral patterns fueling your substance use and develop solid coping skills against such triggers. You’ll learn to manage stress/mood changes better, communicate effectively and build healthy relationships. These skills promote relapse prevention and lasting sobriety. They also offer family education and counseling to help you mend relationships, rebuild trust and improve communication with loved ones. This reinforces your support networks.
You’ll receive both chemical dependency education and academic support, including GED prep classes, podcasting courses and state-authorized ALE programs to help you prepare for life after recovery. The cultural programming exposes you to the native traditions of the Seven Nation Tribes. Activities like the weekly Sweat Lodge are said to facilitate purification and rebalancing of the physical, emotional and spiritual self. Besides, the program is fun.
You may even qualify to participate in the Rites of Passage ceremonies that allow you to challenge your strength, courage and higher self. The facility also offers numerous exercises and recreational activities that improve your mental state and promote overall wellness. These include hiking, tai chi classes and sledding and inner tubing near Mt. Spokane. Others are basketball, baseball diamonds and skateboarding. This is in addition to expressive arts like music and nutritional counseling.
The facility no doubt keeps you physically, mentally and emotionally engaged with their numerous programming. This makes the process fun and enjoyable and plays a crucial role in building the habits and resilience needed for lasting recovery.
The program lasts 90 to 120 days depending on your unique condition. Aftercare services may include referrals to outpatient care through the Family and Wellness Center on campus. Clients not local to Healing Lodge may be connected to community providers in their residences for ongoing support.
