About The Hale Foundation
Based in Augusta, Georgia, The Hale Foundation is a men’s-only residential substance abuse and addiction treatment facility. Care is available to adults aged 18 and older, including those on probation or parole with the approval of a probation or parole officer. Support is provided regardless of gender, race, or background.
The Hale Foundation’s Hale House is made up of 5 houses that can house up to 48 residents. Individuals are expected to have completed detox before beginning their time in residential treatment. Programming is guided by 12 Step philosophy, and combines education and a supportive residential environment through three separate phases designed to meet the needs of residents at varying stages in their recovery journey.
During Phase 1, residents can expect a structured routine including breakfast and dinner, morning meditation, two daily AA meetings, group therapy five days per week, four in-house meetings per week, and individual therapy as needed. Throughout all of this, clients will be immersed in 12 Step while having access to recreational activities for a more holistic approach to treatment. During Phase 1, residents will also complete a ‘drug and alcohol history’, as well as a ‘life history’ to help them introspect and better understand their journey, and their relationship to substances. On completion of Phase 1, residents will have achieved full-time employment with the help of affiliated temp agencies and businesses in the community.
During Phase 2, residents will continue their active participation and progression through 12 Step programming through sponsorship, and active involvement in their home group while working full-time. As the final stage, Phase 3 is a step-down program focused on sober living. During this time, they will be subject to random drug screenings. This phase is designed to set residents up for a positive start to a sustainable and long-term recovery.
