About The Forrester Center for Behavioral Health

The Forrester Center for Behavioral Health is an outpatient addiction treatment clinic in Spartanburg, South Carolina. They provide an intensive outpatient program, a peer support program and medication-assisted treatment (MAT) for adults. A specialized intensive outpatient program is available for adolescents. For individuals who need treatment services to satisfy DUI requirements, the Forrester Center offers an Alcohol and Drug Safety Action Program.

All outpatient programs at this facility are dual-diagnosis in nature. Licensed clinicians will determine what path of intensity is best for you based on your initial consultation. Treatment consists of group and individual counseling, medication management and developing new coping skills. Sessions will focus on relapse prevention, relationships and job problems. If you need more intensive treatment, you’ll receive referrals and coordinate with other agencies as needed.

The MAT program focuses on treating opioid and alcohol addiction. In this program, you’ll complete an assessment by a nurse practitioner, receive a medication prescription and attend group therapy. You’ll be assigned a counselor and a peer recovery coach to help you walk your recovery path. They’ll also help connect you to food banks, clothing centers and 12-step meetings when needed. Getting set up through the MAT program generally takes between seven and 14 days.

The Bridge Program offers family-centered service for adolescents aged 12 through 17. An intensive outpatient program for substance abuse is also available for adolescents.

People who’ve received treatment at The Forrester Center said this program helped them. They also said the staff knows them by name. Another person said this is a great place to get help when you’re ready for it.
