Oaklawn’s Mishawaka Campus, located in Mishawaka, Indiana provides mental health and addiction services to care for the unique needs in the community. Oaklawn is right next door to the St. Joseph River with multiple parks and the riverwalk trail where you can spend time in nature and with the local community. I think this trail can be a relaxing place with plenty of space to walk, bike, or run.

Supportive Residential Program for Young Adults

The Mishawaka Campus has a long term residential program for youth between the ages of twelve and eighteen. The program offers care to individuals who have psychiatric, emotional, behavioral, or intellectual challenges, developmental disabilities, and sexually harmful behaviors. The goal is to help you develop healthy coping skills and reintegrate you successfully into your community.

For a short term stay, Oaklawn offers a 30-day diagnostic and evaluation service to youth. The assessment can cover psychological, family, substance use, and clinical observation areas.

Inclusive Spaces

For youth, I think it’s important to note that LGBTQ+ care is offered. Therapists are trained in the gender quest curriculum to help create a space where you feel safe and welcome. The center also has a number of recreational activities to take part in like a Gaga ball pit, gym, basketball courts, and playground equipment.
