About The Bridge House
The Bridge House offers hope for self-renewal to men seeking freedom from drug and alcohol use in Framingham, Massachusetts. They create a safe and structured collaborative community where you can rebuild your life for the better. You’ll practice sober living and gain independent living skills as you work toward rejoining the community. This faith based halfway house is particularly suitable if you’re in the early stage of substance use recovery. This means you would have gone through detox or other high-intensity addiction therapy.
A core eligibility criterion is that you must have been verifiably sober for 30 days. Most residents come directly from a 30-day counseling program or a transitional support service. You must also have a burning desire and commitment to achieving and maintaining a sober lifestyle. The programs in this facility are tailored to your unique need to achieve the best recovery outcomes. It primarily involves counseling to support your physical, spiritual and mental wellbeing.
Daily Life at a Sober Living Home
You’ll attend eight, one-hour group sessions each week. The sessions are scheduled to let you attend as many groups as possible if you’re working. You’ll also attend individual sessions with your primary counselor to address personal issues, set recovery goals and develop strategies for success. Residents are encouraged to participate actively in outside activities including self help meetings like AA/NA, community events and volunteering opportunities.
You’re also encouraged to actively interact and communicate with peers and participate in activities that support the smooth running of the house. That way, you can gain essential life skills that support independent living while also learning personal responsibility. Additionally, you are required to find and maintain employment. This fosters stability and a sense of purpose in your recovery.
You must open a savings account and contribute $160 weekly to help build financial independence and stability once employed. This makes things a bit easier for you upon reentry into the community.
