About Aiken Center

The Aiken Center in Aiken, South Carolina, promotes healthy living and a life free of substance use through prevention, treatment and recovery support programs. Treatment is delivered in an outpatient setting. Continuing care is provided upon completion of the program through group therapy, self help meetings and referrals to community support services for the whole family. Aiken Center accepts most insurance plans, and I appreciate that no client is refused services due to an inability to pay

Outpatient treatment plans are tailored to each client’s unique needs and recovery goals. Services include individual therapy that addresses issues that may impact your recovery. Group counseling sessions focus on the challenges of recovery, building healthy coping strategies and reinforcing your strengths to create a strong foundation for recovery. Other services in the outpatient program include live skills development, addiction education groups, family support and recovery coaching.

Women’s Treatment Program in Aiken

I think it’s great that there is a specialized outpatient program for women. Treatment in this program is designed to address the unique needs of women in the early stages of recovery. Some of the unique issues addressed include parenting in recovery and the impact of trauma. The program also provides resources for community support.

Medication Assisted Treatment in South Carolina

Medication assisted recovery is also available at the Aiken Center for clients who are chemically dependent on opiates or alcohol. Clients are prescribed medications that reduce cravings and initial withdrawal symptoms to help wean them off substances and break the cycle of addiction. Medications used in combination with therapy are known to produce better recovery outcomes than either intervention alone.
