Vera French Community Mental Health - Terrace Ridge on Progress Drive in Davenport, Iowa provided outpatient therapy for substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders. They're closed now, but they emphasized individualized treatment plans. They accepted Medicaid, Medicare and military insurance, as well as state and government funding. Sign language services were offered for the deaf and hard of hearing. Telehealth appointments were available.

Evidence Based Treatment for All Ages

Individual, group, family, and couples counseling was offered for children, adolescents, young adults, adults, and seniors. Persons with post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), serious mental illness (SMI), and children with serious emotional disturbances (SED) were also served.

I found that evidence based modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) were combined with other integrated dual diagnosis treatments. They also provided medication management, diet and exercise counseling, and suicide prevention services.

Clients of the program were generally satisfied, citing the staff’s professionalism and describing the welcoming environment. There were, however, concerns as to the rate of staff turnover and communication issues, as well as difficulties with medication management.
