About 180 Ministries Teen Challenge Adult Men

180 Ministries for Men is located in Denver, Colorado. Their residential program is based on a spiritual education model for substance use recovery. They are founded on moral principles found in the Bible as well as the 12-steps of recovery as the foundation for healing and restoration. This program is generally one year long and includes work therapy.

It's called 180 because this program addresses a person's body, mind and spirit to help them make a full 180-degree transformation. The program teaches students how to complete a 180 and turn their lives around. The goal is to have each client leave as a responsible and contributing member of the community.

There is a $600 entry fee that includes the first month of support. You'll need to fill out an application to be considered for admission.

This program helps men create a personal relationship with Jesus Christ in order to become free from addiction. Clients gain social skills, work habits and build supportive relationships. You'll live in dorm-style shared bedrooms and participate in workshops, classes, chores, social activities and work therapy. You'll also attend 12 step and other peer supportive meetings.

The 12 steps are a set of guiding principles for tackling behavioral compulsion, alcoholism and drug addiction. This tried and true approach to addiction recovery focuses on honesty, humility, forgiveness, courage, compassion and self-discipline to promote well-being and spiritual growth.

Unlike other residential programs that are as short as 28 days, this year-long program allows you to fully embody new healthy habits before leaving the supportive environment. I like that you'll also leave with job experience and work references to help you get employment after discharge.
