About Summit Hill Wellness
Summit Hill Wellness in Richmond, Virginia, is a provider of online intensive outpatient treatments for substance abuse, gambling and mental health disorders. They are a CARF-accredited organization that offers a remote intensive outpatient program for addiction. Best of all, they are in-network with major insurance providers and accept some Medicaid plans.
At-Home Substance Use Treatment
After you contact Summit Hill Wellness, you’ll be sent enrolment documents to help you pick the right group therapy meeting that works for your schedule. I like that they have afternoon and evening sessions available. You’ll create a Summit Hill account and use that to track your progress and join group sessions.
All sessions are led by a Summit Hill therapist. Each session will have a presentation to educate participants about addiction-related topics. The therapist will also facilitate a group discussion. Topics include anger management, cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing and relapse prevention.
On top of group sessions, you’ll also have one-on-one therapy sessions with your counselor. Summit Hill also provides access to 12 Step programs and Smart Recovery.
Online Recovery Tools for Virginians
The remote interface that Summit Hill Wellness uses is excellent. You can log into your account to review program content, connect with your therapist, see how many sessions you’ve completed and track your progress. Having an online web application lets you stick to a treatment plan even if you have work or family responsibilities, mobility challenges, or don’t want to be exposed to illness from the general public. They have IOP and PHP options so you can choose the right level of intensity for your needs.
I appreciate that clients who need inpatient care can access residential treatment at their sister company, Williamsville Wellness. They have a 430-acre historic farm outside Richmond.
