About Stonegate Center
Stonegate Center gives adults a dignified and holistic path to substance abuse recovery in Azle, Texas. Their residential treatment plans address body, mind and spirit using proven clinical and alternative treatments. This center is located on 125 sprawling acres an hour outside Dallas. Clients get gendered housing, medical detox, 12 Step support groups and a faith-based environment. Stonegate works with several commercial health providers like Atna, Bright Health, and Magellan.
I really like the way they’ve designed their gendered treatments. The women’s program takes into account the biological effects of substance use on the female body. For example, substances can interfere with menstruation, hormone production, menopause and pregnancy. Treatment also looks at the common causes that women turn to substances including trauma, domestic violence, postpartum depression, child custody issues and more.
The women’s facility is a beautifully remodeled 26-person facility with lots of natural light. Residents will get semi-private rooms with queen beds. Gourmet meals, onsite pool and hot tub, fitness and yoga studio, and plenty of lounging and relaxing areas are part of this space. They offer 45 and 90 day programs that are science backed and faith based. On top of counseling with licensed therapists, you’ll get access to recreational activities like rock climbing, dance therapy and equine therapy.
Similarly, the men’s program focuses on the needs specific to males. Many guys are not comfortable sharing their thoughts and feelings in a co-ed space. This program gives them fellowship and accountability as they work through their challenges.
Stonegate also has a dedicated detox facility to help clients move through the early days of recovery. A thorough assessment will include medical exams, psychological testing and going through your health and substance use history. Once you’re admitted, you’ll have a medical team supervising you and monitoring your symptoms. You’ll be in a quiet private room during this process and will move into the gendered residential facilities once you’ve stabilized.
