About Steppingstone Fall River Womens Program
Steppingstone Fall River Women’s Program is a residential mental health and substance use disorder program for women and is located in Fall River, Massachusetts. This program is funded by the Massachusetts Dept of Public Health, Bureau of Substance Addiction Services, and MassHealth, so no one is ever turned away based on ability to pay.
Housing for Women and Infants
This facility caters to women who are pregnant or who have just recently had a child and are recovering and trying to stay sober. It houses 28 beds for women and their infants. You must be at least 18 years old, a resident of Massachusetts, willing to submit to a CORI check that has no warrants, drug and alcohol free upon entering and while there, and stable, both medically and psychologically.
While here, you will gain employment skills, parenting skills, treatment and resources to help further your treatment, you’ll attend 12 Step meetings and receive relevant education to your treatment. I like the fact that this program helps women with housing upon completion of this program, which is generally 3-12 months.
Areas of Interest
I found it interesting that Fall Rivers is home to Battleship Cove, which is the world’s largest collection of World War 2 naval vessels. They also have several museums, a musical theatre, and a state park.
