As part of their Acute Treatment Services, SSTAR - Stanley Street offers both an outpatient and residential drug and alcohol rehab for individuals with substance use disorder who do not require detox. The program is called SSTAR’s Clinical Stabilization Service (CSS) and involves a clinical assessment, individualized treatment planning, individual and group counseling, case management, education, and nursing services. Therapists at CSS use a range of evidence based therapies, including cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, family counseling, and medication assisted treatment (MAT). MAT involves the use of certain medications, like buprenorphine, in combination with behavioral counseling to overcome opioid and alcohol use disorders. It is considered the gold standard of opioid use disorder treatment and is endorsed by SAMHSA and the National Institute on Drug Abuse.
Residents will also participate in skill building workshops that focus on developing relapse prevention skills, stress management, overcoming cravings, and peer support. The CSS team also supports program graduates in transitioning to sober living, TSS, long term care, and medical appointments by providing transportation and referrals to recovery support navigators or recovery coaches.
