About Spero House Sober Living

Spero House Sober Living is a licensed sober living community that specializes in residential substance abuse and addiction treatment. Support is available to women aged 18+ of all ethnicities, sexualities, and backgrounds. You'll find 'em located out in Mesa, Arizona.

This sober living community is ideal for women searching for a homely and supportive environment that can make a real difference in their lives. Residents are held accountable throughout their recovery journey, while also being made to feel valued as they participate in the Spero community. Many of Spero’s residents move in after completing detox, or other treatment programs in which they have achieved at least 30 days of sobriety.

Before I introduce the various sober living homes, let’s look at what they have in common. All of Spero’s communities hold weekly house meetings, and administer daily random drug tests and breathalyzers. All work closely with local referral centers to make sure their residents are properly supported throughout recovery. They also require a release of information to allow easy communication with outside programs. There are also live-in house managers at each location, available for 24/7 support. Each house also offers education and tools to help residents with various activities and daily life in their sober living community.

In terms of residency requirements, all participants are required to have a sponsor. They must also attend at least five 12-step meetings, and be actively working through the steps. All residents must also respect curfews, undertake daily chores, and service commitments, and report to a home group.

In the initial two days of transitioning to one of Spero’s houses, residents can expect to spend time settling in while paired up with another woman in the community to help them integrate into the home, lifestyle, and neighborhood. On arrival, new residents should bring along ID, 12 Step literature, their social security and insurance card, as well as basic items like clothes, towels, clothes etc. However, for women with limited resources, Spero can support them with things like toiletries, clothing, and food.

There are six separate houses, each with its own unique features, benefits, and communities. Edgewood is made up of primarily single rooms and features a private pool, BBQ, a yoga and meditation room, and a peaceful outdoor space. Hilton is located within a gated community and also boasts a pool and easy highway access. Cottonwood is located near a lakeside park and has a mixture of private and shared rooms and city transport access. The other three are located just outside downtown Mesa and feature private and shared rooms.
