About Southwest Counseling Services Recovery
A pillar in Western U.S. history, Rock Springs, Wyoming, is home to the CARF accredited Southwest Counseling Recovery Center. This community substance abuse and mental health treatment center has served Sweetwater County residents for over 40 years. They welcome adults, adolescents and families seeking recovery and healing.
One incredible feature I noticed was they’ll never deny treatment based on finances. Along with accepting most commercial insurance providers, Medicaid and Medicare, they ensure you can get the help you need without insurance. Depending on your family size and income, you may qualify for a discounted sliding fee scale. That way, finances won’t deter you from getting potentially life changing care.
They offer intensive and standard outpatient care, meaning you can live at home and attend treatment. After an assessment, you’ll benefit from a personalized care plan for your unique situation. Their programs deliver several proven therapeutic interventions to help you gain coping skills, learn more about addiction and change your behaviors. While group sessions are fundamental in their approach, individual counseling is also available.
What stands out most to me is their adolescent treatment program. This nine-week specialized track welcomes youth aged 12 to 17 battling alcohol or substance abuse or dependence. Youth will have a safe space to learn about addiction and early recovery, relapse prevention and resistance strategies. Corrective thinking, psychoeducation and process groups are also available.
Another wonderful feature I noticed was their intensive outpatient program (IOP). You’ll benefit from four to six months of programming. This gives you plenty of time to move at a pace that works for you while reflecting and absorbing what you learn. They also offer gender specific tracks so you can learn from and connect with peers on similar paths.
Additionally, you can access continuing care for 25 weeks once completing treatment. They strive to give you the tools and time to strengthen relapse prevention skills and sustain recovery.
