About Sobriety House

Based in Detroit, Michigan, Sobriety House specializes in offering accredited substance abuse and addiction treatment for men. Care is available to men aged 18 and older including those with concurrent mental health issues regardless of race or background. Individuals can access a range of services including outpatient, aftercare, recovery support services, 12 Step meetings and case management.

For residential clients, daily chores are assigned to encourage community responsibility and commitment. Recreational therapy is also provided. This can include walking, running, weight lifting, basketball and offsite gym activities. These therapies ensure clients are able to stay physically fit while addressing their mental and emotional needs through addiction treatment.

They offer a range of therapy types including cognitive behavioral therapy, codependency therapy, dual diagnosis therapy, didactic behavioral therapy, family therapy, gender specific, individual and group therapy. Peer groups and trauma counseling are also available. Gender specific therapy helps transgender and nonbinary individuals come to terms with their identity through self acceptance and overcoming the associated barriers and stigmas.
