About SEMCOA WRAP House
SEMCOA Wrap House in New Bedford, Massachusetts, is a residential treatment center for women who are navigating addiction recovery. This center is run by the Southeast Massachusetts Council on Advocacy. This organization supports and advocates for adults, families, and communities who have been impacted by substance use or mental health struggles. They also provide supportive care to homeless individuals, victims of domestic violence, and those who are parenting.
Opioid Recovery Support in New Bedford
This location offers opioid overdose education, and I find it valuable that they'll also help you get connected to medication assisted treatment (MAT) if you qualify for this type of treatment. Through their whole person approach to care, they can refer you to different community services that will address other challenges you're facing in your life related to opioid addiction.
Family and Legal Services Support
Often, mothers who are navigating addiction recovery might also be struggling with providing appropriate care to their children or are in the process of reunifying with their children. At the WRAP House, you'll be encouraged to work on building relationships with your family. You’ll even be supported if you’re navigating a case with the Department of Children and Families.
I find this to be one of their most supportive programs because mothers moving through addiction recovery often feel isolated or alone as they work to regain their parental rights. You won’t feel that way at the WRAP House. I also appreciate that you'll find legal support if you have other obstacles you're working through involving the legal system.
Supportive Wraparound Care
The residential facility itself is really inviting, offering a modern design that's home-like, safe and supportive. Their approach to care is really supportive, including services ranging from case management to self help groups, life skills training and group counseling sessions.
