School Ten

School Ten is a state licensed DUI program in Fountain Valley, California that offers both first and multiple offender services. They serve Orange County residents, and also offer programs required for out of state DUIs. Services are paid out of pocket, and a sliding fee scale and payment plans are available. 

Clients can attend on a voluntary basis for education and counseling for substance use, or they can be referred by employers, probation officers or family members. Many clients seeking services are required to attend by court order for DUI, drug charges or other legal infractions. Services are offered in English and Spanish, and their Westminster location offers programs in Vietnamese. 

DUI MAT Pilot Program

School Ten is participating in a medication assisted treatment (MAT) pilot program for DUIs through the state of California. This program is separate from DUI court and probation requirements, so participation will not affect your case or legal obligations.

First offender services are included for folks convicted of wet reckless offenses. They also have three to nine month treatment programs for anyone convicted of their first DUI offense, and an 18 month treatment program for multiple offenders. Multiple offenders must also participate in one re-entry activity per month for six months. 

Classroom Style Environment

Anger management and domestic violence programs are offered, as well as parenting and theft intervention courses. I like that they focus on early intervention, while relapse prevention and personal growth are part of the curriculum. Programs are offered in a classroom style environment, and there is accessible space for diverse clients.

I noticed that client reviews tended to be positive. Many folks said they appreciated the supportive and knowledgeable staff and found them to be respectful and nonjudgmental. They shared that staff was flexible with scheduling which made it easier to balance treatment with work. One client said, “They have been nothing but super nice and helpful my whole entire 18 month period.”
