About Schoharie County Community Mental Health Center
Schoharie County provides outpatient care for folks dealing with substance use and mental health issues. It’s a county operated clinic and accepts referrals from community providers. They also offer health home care management, advocacy and children/family support services. You can receive help from their chemical dependency clinic if you’re facing substance use disorders (SUD) or co-occurring conditions.
Schoharie is a small town in New York that has a charming atmosphere. It has great scenic countryside and a calm environment. This clinic’s location in Park Place, Schoharie, offers easy access to local roads. Here, you’ll receive quality care to address your alcohol and drug problems. They even address smoking cessation and gambling disorders. The latter may or may not result from substance misuse.
You’ll first undergo an assessment when you visit the clinic to help the care team identify symptoms and treatment needs. They’ll create a personalized treatment plan that addresses those needs to help you live a healthy and productive life. Treatment involves individual, group and family therapy sessions that encourage personal growth, peer support and healthier relationships. You’ll attend group sessions on emotional regulation, skill building and relapse prevention.
Specialized recovery groups that address the unique needs of adolescents, women and men are available. Their psychoeducational classes last 10 weeks and can benefit your recovery efforts as well. Other therapy groups include early recovery, dual diagnosis, smoke cessation and gambling recovery.
The clinic provides medication assisted treatment (MAT). This evidence based method uses counseling alongside FDA approved meds to treat addiction to opioids and alcohol. They offer Suboxone and Vivitrol to help manage withdrawal and support lasting recovery.
You can receive case management services in this clinic as well. This involves care coordination, advocacy and connection to community support or social services such as stable housing and job opportunities. Non-medical care management support is available for folks without Medicaid.
