About Sandstone Care Boulder

Sandstone Care provides age specific addiction recovery services for teens and young adults. Their beautiful Boulder campus has treatment available for clients as young as 13 years old. They offer outpatient programming, with a partial hospitalization program and a 12 week intensive outpatient program. Treatment includes mental health support for co-occurring mental health disorders. Individual and family counseling is a key component of treatment at Sandstone. Group sessions focus on issues in recovery that are unique to teens and young adults. LGBTQIA+ clients will find a welcoming and affirming environment at Sandstone.

The partial hospitalization program at Sandstone meets five days a week and focuses on stabilizing clients so they can step down to outpatient treatment. Individual counseling combined with small group sessions helps clients focus on staying safe and starting the healing process. Intensive outpatient treatment is a 12 week program with two tracks–the mood disorder and the dual diagnosis. Each track is designed to develop positive habits while clients still attend school or go to work.

Sandstone is unique in its age focus because older clients have a very different experience of addiction. Treatment at Sandstone includes conversations about cyber bullying and homework, for instance. Vocational training, academic coaching, and tutoring are available to help clients integrate recovery into their daily lives. Their gender affirming care is especially important to LGBTQIA+ clients.
