About Sandra Eskenazi Mental Health Center – Thomas P. Stitt Building
Sandra Eskenazi Mental Health Center - Thomas P. Stitt Building in Indianapolis, Indiana, provides addiction treatment to adults and adolescents. These services are provided in separate age appropriate programs. Medicaid and Medicare are accepted.
For their adult addiction services, you must be 18 years of age and older. You will receive outpatient care and treatment for alcohol and drug addiction. The main requirement for you to be admitted into this program is that you must be dependent on an opiate drug. The physician and nursing team will also be able to determine that by the assessment you will take.
The opioid treatment program provides counseling, medication assisted treatment (MAT), case management and psychiatric services. If you have a dual diagnosis, you will be able to receive treatment for co-occurring addiction and mental health issues.
Your treatment is going to focus on developing your recovery plan and the recovery fundamentals. You and your care team will assess your progress and goals and make adjustments to your treatment plan when needed.
Another program they offer is called circle of recovery for families. The services for this program are tailored to pregnant women and women with children. This program uses a family centered approach. I like that they provide you with so much care including prenatal, intrapartum and postpartum care. You’ll receive primary and substance related care, along with counseling. Medication assisted treatment is also available.
You will be able to receive detox in an outpatient setting. You would just need to go every day throughout the week. The staff will assess your vital signs, assess your symptoms and conduct a brief mental status exam. This typically lasts two to four weeks.
They also have xylazine test strips and fentanyl test strips available 24/7. I also like that they have partnered with Overdose Lifeline, providing access to naloxone.
