About Southeastern Behavioral Health Center
Southeastern Behavioral Health Center is a county operated outpatient rehabilitation, treatment, and recovery center for clients with mental health issues, substance use disorder (SUD) and co-occurring disorders. The facility is on Market Street in San Diego, California. They accept government funds, Medicaid and Medicare.
SUD Treatment in San Diego, California
I think clients will find it convenient that the clinic’s services include a full range of SUD assessment, screening and treatment through Medicaid and government related programs. Participants can receive short term individual and group therapy. Many of the clients at Southeastern are also experiencing co-occurring mental health disorders such as depression or anxiety. Therapy at Southeastern addresses these issues while helping clients explore the root of their substance use. Clients are equipped with the tools they need to manage triggers. And if they need medication to help manage a psychiatric condition, the clinic offers medication management.
I noticed that the Market Street location also offers crisis management and crisis intervention services. The clinic is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The walk-in hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Comprehensive Case Management in California
One of the things I like about this program is the case management services. Case management supports clients in recovery who have ongoing mental health and/or substance use challenges. The case manager coordinates resources to help clients reach their goals. It’s great for clients because the services are offered at the client’s location, such as at home or school.
Case managers help with symptom management, life skills training and care coordination. Clients can get assistance with medical care, clothing, food, shelter and other basic needs. Clients have access to vocational and educational planning. The services are comprehensive and help clients achieve an improved quality of life. To be eligible for case management, you’ll need to be 18 or older with a long term co-occurring substance use or mental health condition and be involved in the San Diego County Behavioral Health System.
