About Samaritan House

Samaritan House is a Maryland State certified residential treatment facility for recovering alcohol and drug dependent adult males. The facility is located in Anne Arundel County in an area commonly called the Annapolis Neck.

The Annapolis Neck is centrally located in Maryland on the Chesapeake Bay where the Severn River meets the bay. That’s about 25 miles south of Baltimore and about 30 miles east of Washington, DC. This means folks from these two regions can also benefit from the program even though they mainly serve Anne Arundel County residents.

It is safe and secluded, yet easily accessible via major roads. They recently expanded the facility to house 16 additional beds for single individuals. This also led to upgrades in the existing facility including modern toilets, bathrooms and more.

Here, men receive quality residential care that prepares them to reenter the community as productive individuals free from drug or alcohol issues. Priority is given to homeless and unemployed folks who are sober and employable. This makes this program suitable if you have completed detox or even more intense inpatient treatment. You can expect 24/7 support from a team of caring and friendly professionals.

Their recovery approach includes intensive evidence based methods like cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and motivational enhancement. But that’s not all. You’ll also attend individual and group counseling sessions and 12 Step meetings like Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous. They also offer family support services, career counseling and life skills training.

What makes this program great is their low intensity approach to residential care. So you’re allowed some independence and the chance to return to work or start working toward your career and life goals. The program may last between three to nine months depending on how fast you fulfilled your personalized care plan.

Outpatient Rehab

This level of rehab offers accountability and support through regular therapy sessions and support group meetings. It may last for weeks or months, based on your ongoing recovery needs.
