About Summa Health System Juve Family Behavioral Health Pavilion

Juve Family Behavioral Health Pavilion opened in 2023 as a 64 bed psychiatric and behavioral healthcare facility for adults in Akron, Ohio. They offer both inpatient and outpatient services at the Akron campus, as part of the extensive Summa Health System. Summa merged with the former Saint Thomas Hospital in 1989.

They accept Medicare, Medicaid, private insurance and military insurance like TRICARE. As part of a large healthcare system, they provide a sliding fee scale and financial assistance for eligible clients.

Medication Assisted Treatment Options

Addiction focused programs here integrate counseling, group therapy and relapse prevention strategies. I noticed that medication assisted treatment is available using Vivitral and Sublocade for qualified clients.

Trauma Informed Outpatient Programs

Their substance use disorder partial hospitalization program (PHP) and intensive outpatient program (IOP) are offered through their Traumatic Stress Center for trauma informed care. These programs allow clients to receive structured, evidence based care while maintaining some daily routines outside the hospital.

Developing Coping and Life Skills

Inpatient psychiatric care in private rooms is offered for clients with various mental health diagnoses. Dual diagnosis support addresses co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders. I think it’s helpful that clients learn coping skills, stress management and relapse prevention techniques outside of therapy sessions.
