About Safe Journey House

Safe Journey House is a residential mental health facility located in Hyattsville, Maryland. They offer inpatient programs for clients who need to be temporarily removed from their living situation due to a mental health crisis. The clinic’s services are meant to be a short-term solution to an immediate crisis, with the average stay lasting for 10 days. In addition to accepting some commercial insurance plans, Medicare, and Medicaid, Safe Journey House also works with uninsured clients.

Get Round-the-Clock Care

The clinic’s staff of mental health professionals is available to you 24/7. I noticed that the facility offers two levels of care: inpatient admission prevention for clients at risk of being hospitalized and inpatient admission alternative for clients who pose a threat to themselves or others and can only be discharged from the hospital through Safe Journey House. During your stay, you’ll be provided with three meals per day and have access to a phone line.

Access the Tools You Need to Prevent Future Crises

In addition to assisting you through your current crisis, Safe Journey House will help you create a crisis prevention plan to lessen the chance of another one happening in the future. One aspect that really stands out to me about this clinic is they also include your support system in your recovery process to improve your situation. The clinic can also help you access financial, educational, and medical resources.
