About Her Story Safe Harbor House

Her Story Safe Harbor House in Springfield, Ohio, provides a residential and Christ centered program for women, many of whom have experienced a lifetime of abuse. They are a nonprofit organization and collaborate with social services, law enforcement and churches to provide the best care possible. Family Environment and Community Connections

This is a family environment where you can heal from trauma and addiction while addressing complex mental health issues and undergoing transformation that supports independent living. I like that their goal is to reduce your isolation and disconnection while bringing you into a family connected community.

Their program addresses six areas of growth including physical, spiritual, emotional, relational, life skills and education/employment. Wraparound services help facilitate sustainable recovery.

They provide a three to six month program when you're struggling with addiction and mental health challenges. You received trauma focused, faith driven assistance to help rebuild your life and support your recovery journey. To be admitted, you must have a substance use disorder, be a female over 18 years old and must not have any violent or sex offenses.

Substance Abuse and Mental Health Treatment for Women

You will not have access to your cell phone during treatment and you cannot be a primary caregiver of any children. The program includes an intensive outpatient program (IOP), case management services and connection to medically assisted treatment when it's needed. Mental health counseling may include eye movement desensitization and reprocessing therapy.

You will undergo frequent and random drug screens and must attend community recovery meetings such as Alcoholics Anonymous or Narcotics Anonymous. I appreciate that you’ll also receive stable housing, food and other basic necessities.
