Specialized Addiction Treatment in Edison, New Jersey

The outpatient substance use treatment in Edison includes medication assisted treatment (MAT), acute withdrawal management, and specialized addiction treatment (SATS). SATS is for clients with substance use and co occurring mental health disorders. The program screens for outpatient withdrawal management and provides MAT if appropriate. MAT is especially helpful for clients who need to withdraw from opioids or alcohol while still attending school or maintaining employment.

The treatment team offers a gender specific track for women that I think many clients will find helpful. The women’s track addresses the unique obstacles that many women face in recovery.

Edison’s Intensive Mental Health Outpatient Treatment Program

One of the programs I noticed is a four week intensive outpatient program (IOP) for mental health issues like depression and anxiety. The IOP is for adults 18 and older. Clients work for three hours a day, three days per week with a licensed social worker. I think clients will find that they leave the program with valuable skills for reducing depression and anxiety. Individual and family therapy are also available through this program.

Bilingual Mental Health Help for Teens and Children

UBHC provides comprehensive outpatient services for children, teens, and adults. The youth services include case management, medication management, and individual and family therapy. Kids can get help for stress, trauma, anxiety, depression, attention difficulties, problematic social skills, and learning difficulties. The program sets itself apart with bilingual mental health specialists who speak Spanish and Portuguese on staff.
