About Roots Adolescent Renewal Ranch
Roots Renewal Ranch is a place for girls aged 13-17 to get a whole-child approach to healing their challenges. Located in Argyle, Texas, this ranch helps adolescents build hope for their future and develop a positive self identity. They help girls dealing with mental health or substance use through a strength-based program. They’ll work to uncover the root of the problem and help girls and their families move forward with hope. Roots accepts most insurance plans.
Each girl’s needs are different so the length of treatment can vary. Generally, a 90 day program works well for many clients but they’ll find a plan that is right for you. Clients will have daily group counseling with their peers, weekly individual therapy and daily time for journaling, assignments and doing school work using online learning platforms.
Students will stay enrolled at their home school and will complete assignments each week to ensure they understand the concepts taught. I like that on-site teachers are certified including ESL and Special Ed teachers to support residents. Girls will get 2.5 hours of classroom time daily as well as one to two hours slotted for homework. Parents and schools will get weekly progress updates.
Clinicians who specialize in childhood therapy will introduce your child to a variety of techniques such as EMDR, somatic psychotherapy, harm reduction and SMART recovery. There’s also a robust family program. Parents will have private sessions with the child’s therapist, family sessions, and sibling check ins. There’s also parent support and education groups. Best of all, the family weekend gives you a chance to come together to learn and grow.
All residents and their families get 90 days of aftercare once they leave the program. This may include parent and sibling support groups, check ins and more.
