About River City Rehabilitation Center
River City Rehabilitation Center has one of their two locations in San Antonio, Texas. Here, they offer medication to help with alcohol and opioid disorders. They don’t accept health insurance as payment. Clients pay a weekly fee as they go. There is also an admission fee that you’ll pay when you do your intake.
They offer methadone for opioid addiction and Antabuse for alcohol use disorders. There are different forms of methadone. At River City they use a diskette version that dissolves in water. You’ll come to the clinic daily for your dose because Methadone is effective for 24 hours. You’ll get an extra dose for days the clinic is closed. After you've been stable for a while, you may be eligible for take-home doses. This means that you won't have to come to the clinic every day. This gives you more trust and flexibility.
Antabuse is used to treat chronic alcohol abuse. This medication causes a negative reaction that is very unpleasant when you have any traces of alcohol. over time your brain will stop craving alcohol because of the negative association with its aftereffects.
