About Research Psychiatric Center
Research Psychiatric Center’s Midwest location in Kansas City, Missouri serves clients of all ages. They can serve those who have both mental health and substance use disorders, which is known as a dual diagnosis, in an adult outpatient program. They also have mental health programs for adults, youth, and seniors.
Choose the Treatment That’s Best For You
One of the unique elements I saw at the center was their Treatment Mall concept. Instead of having an assessment and then a clinician creating your specific program for you, you get to choose the plan yourself.
I thought this was a neat concept that would help create ownership and a commitment to finish the plan. The Treatment Mall offers the chance for you to pursue specific goals such as addiction treatment, trauma, grief, depression and more.
The Vine Unit Provides Stability
The Vine Unit is another unique feature this clinic offers. It has 24 hour mental health support and an intensive therapy program to help you overcome acute mental health issues. They also provide addiction treatment in this unit.
This program has a full day of treatment that includes therapy and medication discussions with a psychiatrist. This allows you to address your issues right away and get intensive treatment instead of waiting for multiple appointments.
Other Mental Health Support
For those in recovery who still need help with mental health, there are a variety of options. They have general outpatient care as well as intensive outpatient programs and day treatment.
They offer specialized care for specific age groups. The teen program addresses the needs of those aged 12 to 18 and helps them as they transition into adulthood. The senior program addresses the unique needs of that population such as anxiety, mental health diagnoses, grief, depression and loneliness.
