About Region 4 Chemical Dependency

Located at various locations throughout Mississippi, Region IV Mental Health Services is a state licensed medical addiction treatment provider. Offering mental health evaluations, medication assisted treatment, counseling, case management, drug and alcohol rehab, partial hospitalization, nursing services, psychiatric services, crisis stabilization, family support services, subsidized housing, and school based services. Specialist programs for adolescents facing criminal justice involvement, and senior psychosocial rehabilitation services.

Region IV Mental Health Services has been serving Alcorn, Prentiss, Tippah, and Tishomingo Counties of Mississippi since 1972, and it recently expanded services to Desoto County. With a focus on addiction treatment, Region IV Mental Health Services have the experience and expertise to treat patients with a wide range of co-occurring mental health disorders. The residential facility is in Alcorn County and can host 24 males and 12 females.

Available 24 hours a day for consultations, Region IV Mental Health Services clinical team will determine the most appropriate level of care and treatment following a comprehensive mental health assessment. Programs include individual and group therapy, family counseling, education, skill development, psychoeducation, peer support, and aftercare planning. Evidence based therapies include cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, and motivational interviewing.

Medication assisted treatment (MAT) is a highly effective and evidence based treatment, endorsed by the National Institute on Drug Abuse as the gold standard treatment for opioid addiction. MAT involves the use of certain medications, like methadone, in combination with behavioral counseling.
