About Recovery Point Charleston

Since 2016, Recovery Point Charleston has been a residential addiction treatment facility for women in Charleston, West Virginia. Here you’ll find a residential recovery program based on the social model. Accommodating up to 100 women at a time in the state’s captial, Recovery Point uses the 12 Steps of Alcoholics Anonymous to help you heal. They’ll guide you through a non-medical detox phase and two recovery phases. They also offer an off the street program that helps new residents acclimate to the treatment environment.

Off the street residents are provided modest accommodations while attending daily classes and 12 Step meetings. Each new resident receives a 72-hour buddy who helps mentor them and teaches them daily living skills. During this part of treatment you’ll begin to understand the physical, emotional, and spiritual nature of your addiction. The detox stage is between three and seven days. It’s important to note that medications are not administered during this time, but your vitals will be monitored.

Following detox, you’ll be expected to attend in-house meetings and classes to prepare for the recovery phases of treatment.

During phase one of the recovery program you’ll have daily work assignments while completing the curriculum of Recovery Dynamics. This curriculum is based on the 12 steps of Alcoholics Anonymous and it includes 28 group sessions and 40 written assignments. You’ll also be required to attend AA and NA meetings, and get a sponsor and a home group.

Phase two is also known as the Silver Chip program and you can transition into this phase after finishing step 12. You’ll have the opportunity to become a peer mentor and facilitate the Recovery Dynamics class for a stipend.

Many former residents say they can’t say enough good things about this wonderful facility. Another person said this is an amazing peer driven rehab facility. They depend on donations to provide cost-free services for clients.
