In 1973 they began as a program for alcoholism in the Health Department of Fairfield County, and in 1990 they transitioned into the Alcohol, Drug Addiction and Mental Health Services (ADAMH) that would be available to individuals within the community. They changed their name to The Recovery Center in 1999, and since then they have continued to prioritize high quality care for substance abuse and mental health conditions.
