About The Recovery Center
The Recovery Center in Lancaster, Ohio offers treatment to adolescents, adults and families who are struggling with mental health and substance abuse disorders. In 1973 they began as a program for alcoholism in the Health Department of Fairfield County, and in 1990 they transitioned into the Alcohol, Drug Addiction and Mental Health Services (ADAMH) that would be available to individuals within the community. They changed their name to The Recovery Center in 1999, and since then they have continued to prioritize high quality care for substance abuse and mental health conditions.
To receive services here, they require a scheduled appointment for a full diagnostic assessment to be completed. This helps them assist you better by identifying the level of treatment you need.
What sticks out to me the most is their crisis intervention services which are available on a walk-in basis. When you or a loved one feel overwhelmed and unsure what to do, licensed professionals can assist you and connect you to resources within the area to provide encouragement, help you begin your healing journey, and move forward.
What's so unique about them is their priority for prevention and education services. Due to the rise and risks of overdoses within the last few years, they are focused on educating and providing prevention training that helps people know what to look out for and what to do in case of an emergency. They offer Narcan training, which teaches you how to administer Narcan during an overdose and provides Narcan kits for participants.
They want to make treatment accessible to as many people as possible. With that in mind they provide financial assistance and sliding scale fees if you are uninsured or underinsured.
