About Recovery Center of Maryland, LLC

Located in the metropolitan heart of Baltimore, Maryland, Recovery Center of Maryland provides residential and outpatient care to individuals with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders. It’s a subsidiary of Recovery Centers USA. Accredited by CARF, they accept Medicaid in addition to private insurance and self-payment. Telehealth visits are available to those unable to attend sessions in person.

Treatment for Diverse Patient Populations

With a mission to "nurture a treatment environment characterized by responsiveness and respect,” they offer specialized treatment tracks to a variety of patient populations. Pregnant and postpartum women are welcomed here, as are survivors of trauma. The facility is LGBTQ+ inclusive, addressing the unique needs of this specific community. Veterans and military personnel also have a place here. Criminal justice clients are accepted, though not including those convicted of DUI/DWI.

Community Centered Care

Residential treatment offers 24/7 supervision with a typical stay of 30 to 90 days. Outpatient and intensive (IOP) options are also featured. Individual, group, and family counseling focuses on evidence based modalities such as cognitive (CBT) and dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), as well as more holistic approaches like neurofeedback treatment, hypnosis, and stress management.

Their community centered care is intended to promote long term recovery and independence, and they provide mobile treatment services including counseling, case management, job searches, and medication support. I appreciate that they also offer transitional housing to individuals at risk for homelessness.

Gratitude for Support Received

I found mixed reviews of the facility. Past clients praised the life changing experiences and express gratitude for the support they received. Others, however, cited concerns about the facility and its management and highlighted room for improvement.
