About Providence Treatment – Honolulu

Providence Treatment is run by Dr. William J. Heran, who has been working in Hawaii since 1985. With a firm understanding of substance use disorders, cultural traditions, and health concerns, Dr. Heran has the expertise to treat substance use disorders and co-occurring conditions. Integrating evidence based practices and 12 step recovery, Providence Treatment provides a successful approach to recovery. Each client receives a comprehensive assessment and treatment plan, during which a clinician seeks to understand the individual’s needs so that they can co-create an individualized treatment plan. In addition to the 12 steps, other treatment activities include individual, couple, family, and group psychotherapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, eye movement desensitization and reprogramming (EMDR), mindfulness, and dialectical behavioral therapy. Before discharge, each graduate receives a comprehensive aftercare plan which will include regular scheduled check ins.

Accredited by the Joint Commission and is licensed by the State of Hawaii Department of Health Drug and Alcohol Abuse Division. Private insurance and self pay are accepted.
