About Proactive Behavioral Services
Proactive Behavioral Services is in Algonquin, Illinois. The center features outpatient treatment programs for various behavioral health disorders including substance use disorders and addiction. The agency has been around for over 20 years.
They also offer a wide range of psychiatric assessments to determine if clients have co-occurring disorders like depression and anxiety. Proactive Behavioral Services works with clients of all ages, races, ethnicities, and gender expressions.
PBS specializes in individual counseling using the principles of cognitive behavioral therapy. Through counseling, clients learn the root causes and triggers of their substance use. One of the great things about PBS is that they match clients up with clinicians with the right experience for their unique needs.
Once they better understand the nature of their addictive behaviors, clients can work with their therapist to develop new thought patterns and behaviors when it comes to drug use, and learn healthy coping strategies to help them break the cycle of addiction once and for all. Additional services include medication management, neuro and psychological testing, and genetic testing.
It’s unfortunate that there are no early morning, evening, or weekend appointments, but telehealth appointments are available to clients who can’t make it to the clinic in person.
One thing that caught my eye, though, was how there are some offsite places that can informally assist with your recovery. If you like to unwind in greenspaces, Jacksonville Community Park isn’t too far away. The Prairieland Heritage Museum is also one block over, and you can pick up new and healthier interests.
