About Michael Y. Pibly Residential Program Inc

PIBLY Residential Programs, Inc. is a nonprofit organization based in the Bronx and Brooklyn in New York City, New York. The organization administers residential programs that offer support and rehabilitative services to adults dealing with mental illness and substance use.

Rosebud House is in the Bronx and is one of the residential homes for individuals in treatment. Individuals are typically placed in the home through a hospital upon discharge or through a social service agency.

Long-Term Mental Health and Substance Use Treatment in NYC

The Bronx is a vibrant neighborhood with a mix of urban and residential areas. The treatment house is only four miles from Central Park, which is home to beautiful green spaces, iconic landmarks and a lake.

One of the things that stood out to me was the length of the treatment program. The average length of time most individuals stay in the house is about two years. This ensures clients have the opportunity to truly stabilize and gain the skills they need to maintain sobriety and transition to independent living.

The house provides a supportive, comfortable and home-like environment. There are kitchen facilities, communal living spaces and staff on site for support.

Case Management Services

The home is for adults with persistent and serious mental illness and co-occurring substance use issues. I noticed that there are on site case management services, as well as daily living skills training, and psychiatric support.

Case managers ensure clients are receiving the services they need. They encourage residents to participate in their daily routines and recovery through a strengths based, collaborative approach. There are counselors, mental health professionals and case managers available to all residents.

The program strives to help individuals successfully reintegrate into the community while managing their own medication and daily tasks. I like the emphasis on community based support networks, relapse prevention and holistic well being.
